Sherwood has changed the wear plate and it now sticks out in one spot about 1″

On left handed engines you will have no issues, but a right hand engine may have to grind it off to use.

NOTE!This pump can be mounted with the inlet and outlet ports reversed.
BE CAREFUL!

No water will be pulled in if mounted incorrectly. Make sure to note your orientation before removal.
